Review of Dr. Wayne Dyer’s The Shift
Wayne Dyer’s latest offering, The Shift, discusses the lifelong passage from Ambition to Meaning. Rather, a key phrase of his is “From Ambition to Meaning”, of which each word headlines the four chapters in this concise yet thorough piece. Dr. Dyer explains our innocent beginning in the “From”, moves us through Ego-driven “Ambition”, illustrates the fundamental change that takes place in the “to” phase of our lives, and ends with our Higher Self’s “Meaning”.
Dr. Dyer successfully packs a wonderful explanation of this journey into a quick 119 pages, which are easily read over the span of a few days, even if you are unfamiliar with most of his work. The Shift has high re-read value, as something can be taken from the work each and every time. His explanation of the Ego portion of our lives, which he explains as “Edge God Out”, will strike to the very core anyone at that point in their life. I have recently begun to feel the pull of the “To” phase of my life, questioning why I am driven toward physical goals such as wealth, possessions and material goods, when nothing on this Earth is permanent. Dr. Dyer’s thoughts on values and moving into “Purpose” are his own, but have been echoed through time by many figures, including Buddha, Jesus, Lao-tzu, Shakespeare, Einstein and even Dr. Seuss.
This book shares its name with a movie that Dr. Dyer had put out in 2009. The movie is referenced, but not rehashed. This book acts as a great companion to the movie; both can stand alone, but serve as good aides to each other. I was asked to review this book by Hay House Publishing, and was sent a copy free in the mail. Previously I had watched the movie, and was pleasantly surprised when this compact little work of art made it to my door. It is wonderful realizing that I am moving toward the “Meaning” portion of my life, yet I realize that the journey is the most amazing part. Dr. Dyer’s gift of writing must truly be read to be believed, and even though The Shift isn’t his standard fare, it is truly marvelous.
Illness and Cell Memory
In my late teens, I was introduced to the books, Journey of Souls: Case Studies of Life Between Livesby Dr. Michael Newton and Many Lives, Many Masters
by Brian Weiss. Up until that point in my life I had never considered the belief in reincarnation. The information contained in both books made a great deal of sense to me and I found myself thrilled at the idea of tapping into the abundance of universal knowledge contained within the subconscious via hypnosis. I specifically found the case studies contained in these books fascinating at how the subconscious memory contained and sometimes retained memories from past lives that were extremely problematic for individuals in this life. Of particular interest to me were the case studies of folks who were suffering from debilitating yet unexplained phobias. Through past life regression hypnosis, they were able to quickly recall the source of that phobia stemming from a past life. Once it was acknowledged, they were instantly cured and released from these fears as if my magic.
This information poured the foundation for this story I’m about to share with you that absolutely changed my life. Many years ago, I worked with a lady, we’ll call her Sharon. Sharon had an adult daughter, we’ll call her Katie, who experienced a past life regression hypnosis session with one of Sylvia Browne’s Ministers. During the session, Katie went to a time in this life when she was with her ex-boyfriend, we’ll call him James. Almost the instant Katie met James, Katie began experiencing significant heart problems, to the point she had to have a pacemaker installed in her early 30’s. She had absolutely no heart trouble up until this point and no family history. When she and James broke off the relationship, he heart went back to normal. It was discovered in this past life regression hypnosis session, however that in an immediate previous life, Katie and James were married. Katie had cheated on James and James caught Katie with her lover and shot her dead, through her HEART!
Up until this point, I knew that past lives effected our mental health, but I had no idea that past lives effected our physical health and certainly to an extreme extent such as this one. We really have no idea how many diseases, ailments, aches and pains that we experience have a direct correlation to our past lives. Every living person has what’s called cell memory which is responsible for carrying issues from life to life.
There are a myriad of ways to conduct this research. You can try meditation or asking the question repeatedly right before you fall asleep in order to obtain the answer in your dreams. I find that if I write the question and place it under my pillow, within three nights I usually receive the answer to my question. You could also try a past life psychic reading or past life regression hypnosis. Be warned though: not everyone has the ability to be hypnotized. I find this is true in many people who have excessive nervous energy and cannot easily relax. Sylvia Browne’s book “Psychic Healing” states that we can go into hypnosis and recall a time, either in this life or another life when we had optimal health and recall that cell memory into our present lives.
Certainly not all disease and other physical problems are caused by cell memory, but if you or someone you love is suffering from an unexplained sudden onset of illness, it would not hurt to check out the source of that issue. Sometimes we plan illness in our lifetimes in order to learn (or attempt to learn) life lessons. Other times we are bombarded with negativity and actually attract illness and disease. It is comforting to know that no matter what you are suffering from that issues can be remedied by researching the source and taking steps to correct the patterns that bind you. I am a firm believer in “Seek and ye shall find!” I was encouraged by my Guides to write this article and know this will plant the seed of health in your future! Happy Wellness!
Official review of Chants of a Lifetime
Hay House Publishing has given me an incredible opportunity to blog about books they send me free of charge. Last month, Hay House sent me “Chants of a Lifetime,” by Krishna Das. I agreed to post a blog about this book and I must say when I first opened the package and looked at the book, my thought was, ‘Oh no, not a musician.’ This was expected to be a tough read for me, because although I enjoy music, I am not musical in any way and I was unsure of how my relation to the material. To my surprise, after delving into the first ten pages I was positive I would enjoy this book, because it is, in the words of Abraham-Hicks, ‘Delicious.’
This is a tale of an American “average Joe” seeking to reveal his higher self through Gurus. He first finds a Guru in The States who in turn leads him to his Indian Guru called Maharaj-ji. Maharaj-ji teaches Krisha Das both through lessons and chanting the ways to release the ego and uncover his higher self. Krisha Das tells the various stories of his encounters with Maharaj-ji and the many miracles he has witnessed as a devotee. These miracle stories are particularly enjoyable, because although I read about and experience miracles in my own life, we here in The States do not witness them often and rarely are allowed to appreciate the caliber of these events. Krishna Das expounds upon how Westerners are programmed with extreme negativity at a very young age and because of this, they suffer tremendously as adults. Early on, Western parents teach children that things are in black and white, with few shades of gray. They provide a mile-long list of deeds and actions that will bring about punishment either physically or eternally. Krishna Das’ sharing of these stories is very much appreciated. They renewed my inspiration and expectation as to what is possible in this life.
The style of writing in Chants of a Lifetime has to be read to be fully appreciated. Krishna Das is a very down-to-Earth individual and his language is colorful, realistic and at times downright hilarious! Many times I found myself reading on a peaceful evening and cracking up with laughter out loud!
Krishna Das’ chanting is his spiritual practice that continues to bring him closer to Source. His chanting is what my meditation is to me; it is a way to release, renew and rejuvenate. This book comes with a fabulous CD of Krishna Das’ chants that brought me to a new level in meditation. There are many profound and inspiring moments in this book. I would highly recommend Chants of a Lifetime to anyone on a spiritual path.
Ensuring Prosperity in Times of Transit
The World economic downturn has left society feeling fear and uncertainty about their future. One thing is certain: even with all the financial chaos going on, everyone is not suffering, nor does everyone need to suffer. Long before we came into this life, we were fully aware there would be challenges, particularly economic challenges. My personal belief is that we did not jump through the hoops of incarnating on this planet to struggle. Instead, we came here to conquer and overcome the challenges around us. With this in mind, here are some tips for obtaining and maintaining financial stability in this time of transit. Please keep in mind that not every idea will work for everyone, therefore I would highly recommend the trial and error method. Please feel free to keep what you like and discard the remainder.
Where your current financial situation stands will set the stage for the amount of work you need to do to turn it around. No matter how bad you think your scenario is now, it can always be turned around. You will, however need to make significant changes in your life in order to make that 180 degree turn and receive the flow of prosperity that you desire.
1. Feng Shui for abundance is a very useful tool to attract the wealth you desire to you, your home, or your office. Generally speaking, good Feng Shui is what makes you feel good. The key here is to purchase things and place them in such a manner that gives you a feeling of a sigh of relief.
Clutter clearing is single most important Feng Shui practice for promoting abundance. Begin by thoroughly cleaning and de-cluttering the furthermost left hand corner of your home (judging from the front entry), as this is the “wealth area” of the house. When finished you may choose to place a small water fountain in that area or a picture of a body of water, as water symbolizes the flow of abundance. Be sure that when you turn on your fountain, or hang up your picture, you hold the intention of “activating prosperity” in your mind.
Check the condition of your mailbox. Increasing its attractiveness will increase the chance that money will want to come to you! The front entry of a home has an impact on the flow of wealth as well. Be sure that the stairs, concrete, porch, door and windows are properly maintained and clean. Spruce up this area by bringing in fresh flowers, plants, wind chimes and/or a new welcome mat. If you wish to go all out, you can place an outdoor fountain in your front entry way, with the water flowing towards the door on the outside. The next tip is particularly great for your office, if your own your own business. Upon entering your front door, place a model ship (make sure you choose a ship with sails at full mast) and position it so that it is entering your home or office.
Lastly, if the first thing you see upon entry of your home is the back porch or yard, back window or back door, this is considered bad Feng Shui. This symbolizes the money entering the home and immediately exiting out. If your home has this configuration, it is advised to place something in front of the back window or door such as a beautiful screen or some other artwork to distract from seeing out the rear entry.
2. Numerology can also be applied to your daily life in order to increase abundance. For example: try placing a small piece of paper with a number “8” in your wallet along with a large number “8” on or near the place where you keep your bills. The number 8 signals to the Universe that you are ready for an increase in money. It is also advised to get your own numerology chart done, or at the very least get acquainted with your life path number and the challenge numbers to your life path. Then, take a look at the numbers in your life, such as your home address number, that is all the digits added together. It could be that you are living in a home that is a challenge to you and if you work out of your home, this could be directly impacting your abundance. It is also important to note that each letter of the alphabet represents a number (in the Pythagorean system, among others) and therefore any business name has its own numerology. If you work for a place or own your own business that equals a challenge to you this could also be a constant disappointment in the money department.
3. Positive Affirmations are a spectacular way to increase your flow of prosperity. The best thing about affirmations is that you can tailor them to fit your exact need at the precise time. If you have a difficult time selecting affirmations to fit your needs, I would suggest purchasing a book of affirmations. Some favorites that I use for prosperity include: “I now receive prosperity from all happy sources.” “I now live in complete financial freedom and ease.” In addition to the affirmations, be sure to add in affirmations of constant gratitude to speed up the prosperity process. Verbalize your gratitude for everything in your life, your money, your blessings, your job and your bosses. Bless the money coming in and as it goes out. Start a gratitude journal and jot down everything you are grateful for everyday, no matter how big or small. This will lift your vibration, and you’ll see a big difference almost immediately.
My sincere hope is that you have fun with this, as you roll up your sleeves to bring prosperity into your life. If you find that you apply any of these principals and you have amazing success stories and are willing to do so, please send me an email with your story. Abundant Blessings to you and yours forevermore!
Manifesting a Fantastic Destiny
In October 2008, I took $100 that I received for my birthday and I treated myself to a book buying binge at Barnes & Noble. My husband makes fun of me because I don’t read fiction. I prefer to read self help and spiritual/new age. I was especially drawn to the Abraham-Hicks 3-pack series which included, “Ask and It is Given,” which is now one of my favorite books of all time. I cannot keep a copy of it in my house, because I will certainly give it away to someone in need. If you or anyone you know is interested in studying the Law of Attraction, I would highly recommend it. Not only did it change my life, but my husband’s as well.
The hubby and I were both recovering from a particularly rough time in our lives. We packed up and moved to another state due to a small business failure and were starting life anew. In hindsight, it was the perfect time to learn the Law of Attraction so as to not repeat the same mistakes that led us down a path to Destituteville. I started reading, “Ask and It is Given,” and to put it lightly, it shocked me. Up until that point, I had no idea of the caliber of power of thought. To explain this in simple terms, the book teaches that everyone and everything in this Universe has a vibration. This includes: people, thoughts, animals, houses, you name it. Positive thoughts equal a positive vibration; negative thoughts are a negative vibration. The more you focus your attention on positive thoughts and feelings, the more likely you are to attract positive things in your life. The more you focus on the negative thoughts and feelings… well you get the picture.
One of the most fascinating stories that I can think of about the Law of Attraction concerns my friend: we’ll call him Bill. Bill is an organic vegan and a Virgo, who in his 40’s came down with a horrible case of poison ivy. He tried everything natural that he possibly could to remedy him, however nothing was successful. As a last resort he went to a doctor friend of his who prescribed him Prednisone. Keep in mind, this is a man who is incredibly paranoid when it comes to any prescription drugs, mostly because he reads up on them and keeps track of all of the possible side effects, no matter how miniscule the possibility. Instead of taking it right away, he consulted two more doctors he new who all told him nothing would happen, except he would get rid of his poison ivy. So, he took the Prednisone and he got over his poison ivy. However, he suffered the worst side effect one could ever acquire from taking steroids: his hip sockets dried up. He was in constant excruciating pain to the point he had to have both hips replaced before the age of 45. He took the steroid with the expectation that something awful would happen, and lo and behold it did. This is a harsh story, but it makes a good point.
The single most important statement in “Ask and It is Given” is that everything we ask for in prayer is immediately answered without exception. However, in order to receive these answers to our prayers, we must be in “reception” mode. The book gives many processes in which we can, ‘work our way’ into this reception mode in order to receive the answers to prayer. This point really hit home with me and makes a great deal of sense. How many times have we prayed, only to blame God or the Universe for not answering our prayer? After our prayer, we need to work on raising the vibration of our spirit in order to receive the assistance requested.
I can attest that this does in fact work in marvelous ways. In May of 2009, I had a dream that I was shown two sets of lottery numbers. The first set of numbers was 1-1-1. The second set of numbers was 5-6-9-1. I also heard the words, “these numbers will be hot numbers this summer.” Ten days later, while cleaning the kitchen the lottery drawing popped up on the television and I thought to myself, “This is it.” The numbers 1-1-1 hit that day. I dropped to my knees in disbelief. Last summer the numbers 5-6-9-1 hit a total of five times, not in that order. On the days that my numbers would hit, I would drive myself to work in the morning, play my favorite dance tune and shout out positive affirmations as the top of my lungs and it worked! I was able to raise my vibration and receive the answer to my prayers just as Abraham describes in the book.
I hope that the sharing of these stories has inspired the hope and excitement that you too can receive the answers to your prayers and your heart’s desires.
United We Thrive
The Law of Attraction teaches of the power of focused thought and emotion to create our desires. The book “Hidden Messages in the Water,” speaks of the power of words, both spoken and written. The Law of Attraction teaches of the power of focused thought and emotion to create our desires We are vibrational beings, therefore words, thoughts and emotions all have tremendous impact on our lives whether we realize it or not. Collectively this makes up the notion that we are constantly co-creating the reality that we live.
Various groups are popping up all over the planet in concerted effort, joining forces for the greater good of humanity and the environment. A particularly notable instance of the marvelous workings of global consciousness is the World Peace Project's experiments in the reduction of violent crime in Washington D. C. and Dallas. In both cases, violent crime was significantly reduced with no other reasonable explanation. A magical element illuminates the flame of hope when a mass group of people come together and focus on the same goal.
If you are so inclined to assist in making a positive impact, I would encourage you to seek out and become an active participant in one or more of these groups. We no longer live in a time that necessitates us complaining of our current circumstances. By joining forces, we come together as a miraculous Collective Consciousness for the highest good of all people and our Blessed Earth. Many have devoted my life to transform challenges into infinite possibilities. Will you join us? www.higherlight.org
Belief is Everything
Faith is an incredibly powerful and necessary component to answered prayers. Modern day spiritual teachers say belief is everything. You must believe and expect miracles for the same to occur in your life. Jesus taught the importance of belief when the peasant woman in need of healing touched his hemline, he turned and said, “Daughter, your faith has healed you."
Every morning as soon as you wake up and open your eyes say to yourself out loud “I expect miracles to happen to my all day long.” You’ll be surprised at the result. Here at Higherlight.org we ask that all of our Intention Senders believe that the intention they send will create miracles and that their results will be multiplied by taking part in a larger Project. Visualize the result, feel the incredible emotion of everyone working harmoniously and watch our dream come to life!

11:11 Meditation
We here at Higherlight.org set a alarm to go off at 11:11 everyday. At that time we take a moment to stop what we are doing and say as many positive affirmations as we can possibly fit in. At 11:11 the Universe takes a snapshot of your thoughts which in turn manifests your reality rapidly. We have head personal stories of people who have completely changed their circumstances and we encourage you to do the same. We’d love to hear your feedback.

Archangel Michael is a powerful protector.
Call on him whenever you feel fear or you wish to be released from fear. A few days ago I was reading tarot cards at a local event and a happy young lady came to see me. She was 21 years old and she told me that she was a breast cancer survivor! I read her cards, which all looked very good. As she was standing up to leave she asked me, “will my cancer come back?” I told her that the sickness was in her past, not part of her present and under nocircumstances should she bring it in to the future. I told her to call upon The Archangel Michael to release her from that fear and not to dwell on it, because whatever we focus our attention upon we bring it to our experience. I recommended a great law of attraction book and gave her the number of my friend to call who does energy healings.
Be sure to call on Archangel Michael often; he is a tremendous help and he, like all angels, is omnipresent.
a forecast for the Federal Reserve
The immediate astrological forecast of our US Federal Reserve is dismal at best. I have been receiving warnings from a few close friends regarding the bottoming out of the U.S. dollar’s worth. It wasn’t until two months ago, while listening to a metaphysical radio show that I learned these predictions are astrologically-based. I read an article recently written by an astrologer who says the planetary alignment is similar to that of 1873 NY Stock Market Crash. The next set of tragedies is supposed to be somewhere in the neighborhood of mid November 2009. Out of curiosity, I ran an astrological forecast chart on the Federal Reserve and in it are several transits beginning June 25th of 2009 and ending November 22nd of 2009. These transits speak of challenges, massive changes, and transformation. One other notable transit references a “once in a lifetime occurrence,” which causes enough upheaval to re-evaluate every event occurring up until now. Watching the news in the last week, several stories cover how other countries are devaluating our dollar, possibly beginning this process. So, what do we do and what course of action is the most prudent to take? What does the average American need to do that possesses retirement plan and 401K? I’ve asked many people that question and the majority rules: buy gold and silver coins and keep them in your house in a secure safe. The Amero is getting more popular these days, even though it is not yet legal tender. Furthermore, I’ve received several warnings to absolutely stay away from the stock market until the middle of next year at the very earliest. A wise person would also have a three-month supply of food and water in storage, and a stockpile of tradable items such as liquor and ammunition. In these uncertain days, the amount of time it will take to straighten things out cannot be known.
